Beas Kund is the source of the River Beas, although the main rivulet rising from the Beas Kund is called Solang Nallah, till it joins the stream flowing down from Rohtang Pass. The trek to Beas Kund is along the Solang Kund.
This trek to Beas Kund through the Solang Valley is an easy trail that mender through some of the most beautiful mountainscapes in Himachal. According to a local legend Rishi Ved Vyas meditated here and wrote the famous epic The Mahabharat. Solang Valley is a must-see on itinerary of anyone visiting Manali. Its ski slopes attract winter sports enthusiasts while other settles for joy rides on snow scooters. About 2½ km from the Mountaineering Institute of Skiing at Solang, a natural Shivalingam of ice forms every winter and becomes a place of pilgrimage. The height of the lingam varies from year to year (10 – 18 ft).

SOLANG NALLAH – DHUNDI THACH

Early morning, trekking will be starting from Solang Nallah to Dhundi (2,800 m). This trail heads up the Solang Nallah to where the Mountaineering and Allied Sports’ Ski Centre (2,480 m, 7 km) is located. Overnight stay in camp at Dhundi. |

DHUNDI THACH – BAKKAR THACH
Distance : 3 km
Time : 3 hours
Level : Moderate
Trek to Bakkar Thach (2,800m) from Dhundi Thach. The views of the Dhaulandhar and Pir Panjal ranges can be seen from there. Overnight stay in Camp. |

BAKKAR THACH – BEAS KUND

Time : 3 hours
Level : Moderate
We will start trekking from Bakkar Thach along the left bank (north side) of Solang Nallah. Throughout the climb, Hanuman Tibba (5,930 m) is a towering presence on the west. From Beas Kund, apart from Hanuman Tibba, we can see Ladakhi Peak, Shiti Dhar and Manali Peak. Return to Bakkar Thach for night stay. |

BAKKAR THACH – LADY LEG
Time : 4 hours
Level : Moderate
Start trekking to Lady Leg (3,650m) from Bakker Thach, a well marked & frequently used trek leads to a prominent site – resembling the shape of a leg. This site offers a panoramic view of some snowy peaks namely as Friendship, Ladakhi, Shitidhar and Patalsu. Overnight stay in camp at Lady Leg. |

Return trek to Dhundi Thach from Lady Leg over the same beaten trek. Overnight stay in Dhundi. |
